2018-01: Changes To the Bylaws re Terminology

Whereas The National Deafblind Awareness Month (NDBAM) Working Group agreed to adopt the World Federation of the Deafblind (WFDB) spelling convention for consistency with the understanding that each agency or individual who is deafblind may use the spelling they are most comfortable with in their own jurisdictions; and

Whereas respect and dignity are key organizational beliefs; and

Whereas AEBC's deafblind members deserve to be respected.

Be it resolved that the Alliance for Equality of Blind Canadians adopt the WFDB spelling convention, "deafblind" and take every opportunity to change all instances of the word in the organization's bylaws, on the website and in all communications, internal and external, going forward
