Governance
The Alliance for Equality of Blind Canadians is a membership-driven organization, managed on a day-to-day basis by an elected, volunteer board of directors. Organizational policies and standpoints are established through membership resolutions at annual general meetings. Resolutions generally require a 50%+1 vote in favour to be adopted by the organization.
The basic operational parameters of the organization - who can be a member, requirements to sit on the national board, election procedures, and so forth - are set out in our Bylaws. These can be amended, subject to the agreement at an annual meeting of two-thirds of those voting, as required.
