Board of Directors
President, Robin East
Robin East has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, a Certificate In Rehabilitation Work, and has completed the Assistive Technology Applications Certificate Program through The Center on Disabilities at the California State University. He has worked as a Teacher Associate, a Behavioral Therapist, and finally an Officer with the Federal Public Service.
At the age of 48 Robin and his wife, Verlina, try to keep up with their three children ages 20, 18, and 15.
Robin has started a new position with the Canada revenue Agency as a Computer Analyst with the Adaptive technology Program. This along with his volunteer work with many community organizations, such as his work as a member on the Board of Directors of the council of Canadians with Disabilities (CCD) and AEBC, does not leave much time for his hobbies of reading recreationally and playing with his garden scale train in his back yard.
"An advocate is like a catalyst that mixes with an ally and inspires empowerment." this is a favorite phrase of Robins. He believes in working with ally's to overcome barriers and address common issues. He has been involved in advocacy since the early 80's and continues to be a strong leader in whatever role he takes.
