Professional Development Program

Our organization, the Alliance for Equality of Blind Canadians (AEBC), is presently involved in the development of a new program designed to give Blind Canadians the opportunity to further their studies and aspirations.  This would involve helping them to pursue studies in their desired fields, programs, and professions.

The unemployment rate among Blind persons continues to hover at very high rates and even after having gained employment, the barriers faced by blind persons continues to be extremely daunting in the workplace thus making success very difficult to obtain.  Our program seeks to allow their continued professional development.

Our Professional Development Program has two specific objectives as follows:

  1. To give participants the chance to pursue courses at diploma or college level that would enable them to become professionals in their chosen fields and
  2. To help them to become entrepreneurs.

We believe that if these objectives are met, participants in our program will have a greater chance to take advantage of opportunities in both the mainstream as well as in the entrepreneurial spheres.

The AEBC is strongly committed to helping and supporting Blind Canadians to become greater contributing members to society and we believe that our program can go a long way to achieving this goal.  We also believe that your company can play a vital part in helping to achieve the success of this unique Canadian initiative by contributing financially to its success.

We would like to set up an appointment with you at your earliest convenience to discuss further.
