Employment opportunity: Organizational Development Consultant, Not Dead Yet (deadline: August 21, 2015)
Toujours Vivant-Not Dead Yet is a project of the Council of Canadians with to inform, unify and give voice to the disability-rights based opposition to assisted suicide, euthanasia and other ending-of-life practices that have a discriminatory impact on people with disabilities. TVNDY was founded in 2013 by and for people with disabilities, to bring a bilingual, progressive, non-religious perspective to the assisted suicide/euthanasia debate.
TVNDY is seeking an organizational development consultant to help the group achieve its maximum potential, effectiveness and reach. With the assistance of the director, the consultant will:
- Establish TVNDY as a Québec-based not-for-profit organization;
- Determine the feasibility of obtaining charitable status, and guide the organization through this process, or explore and implement alternative options;
- Develop by-laws and assist with board development;
- Build a membership base and improve external communications;
- Develop additional sources of funding.
Qualifications
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with and understanding of the non-profit sector.
- Experience with and knowledge of the disability rights movement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
- Familiarity with and understanding of online tools for social networking and other outreach techniques.
This is a part-time contract position, with the potential for permanent employment. Salary range is $25-$35/hour depending on experience. Please send a CV and a letter of introduction to info@tv-ndy.ca by August 21, 2015.
