Workshop on Skills for Advocacy and Effective Letter Writing - November 1st, 2015 @ 2pm (Teleconference)
The AEBC Leadership, Development and Training Committee invites you to participate in a Workshop on skills for advocacy and effective letter writing.
Date: Sunday, November 1st, 2015
Time: 2 p.m. Eastern time for a maximum of 1.5 hours
Facilitators: John Rae, AEBC Past President, and Chantal Oakes, President, AEBC Okanagan Chapter
This workshop will cover such topics as:
- Personal / global advocacy issues
- Understanding the scope of an issue
- Developing clear content and opinions on issues
- Types of letters (complaint, advocacy, awareness)
- Providing examples and case studies of different letters
- Who and where to send letters
- Media (paper vs. e-mail vs. feedback through website form)
- How a letter can help an issue
- Developing confidence to conduct advocacy
- How to stay motivated
- Q&A, follow up
