Advocacy- We cannot sleep, Let Our Voices be heard !

In this blog, I'd just like to take a moment to speak regarding a quote that i find quite inspiring. I hope that the following quote, will also inspire you. After the quote you will see my follow up comments!

One of the great liabilities of history is that all too many people fail to remain awake through great periods of social change. Every society has its protectors of status quo and its fraternities of the indifferent who are notorious for sleeping through revolutions. Today, our very survival depends on our ability to stay awake, to adjust to new ideas, to remain vigilant and to face the challenge of change."

- Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

AEBC has fought the fight and has remained strong for 20 years, but we need to stay awake, and continue with new ideas, face challenges, and come out in numbers.  It doesn't work if one person does the work -- lots of hands make light work. To continue to stay strong we need our voices to be heard, for without voices we serve no purpose. We cannot sleep and expect things to be done for us. We must come up with new ideas on how to advocate.

I challenge each and every one of my blog reading members to take a moment and think about how you can stand up and face the challenge?
