Alan Neville Retires

In April 2000, Alan Neville was forced to submit his resignation from the NFB:AE's Board of Directors due to health related and personal reasons. He did not seek re-election at this years Conference.

Alan Neville was one of the NFB:AE's co-founders. With others, he compiled the first set of bylaws and served on the Bylaws Committee that drafted the revisions that were adopted at this years Conference. He was the editor of this magazine for its first three issues. He was instrumental in designing the first fundraising programs undertaken by the NFB:AE, and he served as Vice-President of the Central Okanagan Chapter.

Alan was the catalyst for encouraging the chapter to hold a very successful Senior's seminar this past fall. It is his belief that this organisation needs to reach out more to the senior blind population. To that end, he chaired the National Seniors Committee, prepared a report on seniors issues and prepared the draft of a proposed seniors brochure.

His depth of experience will be missed. We wish to publicly acknowledge and recognise Alan and his wish, Doreen's many contributions to the organisation
