Myth # 1 – People who are blind have super hearing.
We don’t!! We do not hear any better or worse than sighted folks. We just aren’t distracted by all the visual input they are subjected to. We listen better, concentrate on sounds more closely and learn to interpret what we hear, smell and feel more effectively out of necessity. And apparently, our brains adapt.
Check out "Blindness causes structural brain changes, implying brain can re-organize itself to adapt”.
