Tactile Treasures

We have been asked to carry the following announcement:

Tactile Treasures is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to the production of print/braille, tactile books for children with visual impairments. Our print/braille books have the text in both print (large print for low vision) and Braille. In this way, sighted and visually impaired people may read together.

The books are originals, written and illustrated tactually (touchy-feely) by members of the group. Some books are entertainment (i.e. nursery rhymes and stories), but all are fun to read.

The books are illustrated through the use of texture, shape and/or actual objects. Two games, Tic-Tac-Toe and Snakes and Ladders, have been adapted to enable a child with a visual impairment to enjoy them

We would appreciate your help, ideas, or suggestions! Anyone wishing to participate in the production of these books is welcome.
