Scholarship Information

The NFB:AE offers four scholarships of $1,500 each to recognise outstanding blind scholars in Canada. These scholarships are presented yearly at the Annual Canadian NFB:AE Convention in Canada.

All applicants must: 1. be blind; 2. reside in Canada; 3. be pursuing or planning to pursue a full-time college or university-level course of study, at a graduate or undergraduate level; and 4. be willing to attend the Annual NFB:AE convention. (Winners convention expenses will be paid for by the National Federation of the Blind: Advocates for Equality.)

All scholarships are awarded on the basis of: 1. academic excellence; 2. service to the community; 3. extra-curricular activities. Note: All of the above criteria are weighed equally when scholarship applications are reviewed.

The National Federation of the Blind: Advocates for Equality is an organisation dedicated to creating opportunity for all persons who are blind. Recipients of Federation scholarships need not be members of the National Federation of the Blind: Advocates for Equality, but membership and involvement is encouraged.
