2015 Conference - Halifax, NS - Talent Show

Announcing the AEBC Talent Show at the conference in Halifax! Join in by April 20th!
This event is sponsored by Richard Papadina of RBC.

Your AGM committee is excited to announce an evening of entertainment on Friday, May 1st in Halifax, Nova Scotia – the first night of the 2015 conference and Annual General Meeting.

How To Enter

Chapters and members are invited to show off their talent either by sending us an MP3 recording or perform live the evening on Friday, May 1st, just after the President’s Report, awards presentation, and the concert with Dr. Terry Kelly.

Chapters and members are encouraged to submit or perform more than one item. You can perform as an individual member, as a group of members or you can represent your chapter. In order for this event to take place, we need a minimum of six entries.

A maximum of three judges will make up the judging panel, including Dr. Terry Kelly (Singer/Songwriter/Musician and Keynote Speaker), Paul Edwards (Past President of the American Council of the Blind) and a representative from Accessible Media Inc.

Entry Criteria

  • Chapters and members will be judged on the number of participants involved in their entry. This is meant to help foster team building and togetherness among chapter members.
  • Participants will be judged on creativity and originality. Your entry must also contain some reference to an AEBC related issue or public awareness.
  • Entries must not exceed three minutes.
  • The deadline for submission of MP3 files is April 20th, 2015. If you plan to perform live then you also need to let us know no later than April 20th, 2015.

What Are The Prizes?

The three following prizes will be awarded:

  • $100.00 for first place
  • $50.00 for second place
  • $25.00 for third place

This is your opportunity to shine and to show off your talent. We know that our esteemed organization is made up of many talented and creative members so join us for an evening of fun and excitement!

Please send your MP3 file or intention to participate no later than April 20th to Dar Wournell at dar@blindcanadians.ca.
