Toronto Chapter

The Toronto Chapter of the NFB:AE strives to fulfill the mandate of our national organization. We are involved in advocacy, fundraising, public awareness and education, membership and social activities.

We are involved in many advocacy issues such as voting, electric cars, labelling, transportation issues and anything else that might pose a barrier to blind people. Our members also represent NFB:AE at outside forums and meetings.

The Toronto Chapter has set up booths in a mall and distributed our pamphlets in as many places as possible. We have also done some public speaking in outside groups.

We meet on the second Saturday afternoon of every month for a three-hour meeting at a public library in Toronto. We also have executive meetings by teleconference about a week before each meeting. After meetings, many of us go out for dinner together and we also have a Christmas and summer social dinner.

For the last several years, we have held very successful fundraising events at Healy's.

We would welcome new members to join our Chapter. For further information, call Carole at 905-707-8987.
