What could happen when disabled and neurodivergent young people have space to connect, create and explore new ideas together?

That’s the focus of FUTURES, a free program for disabled and neurodivergent young people in Canada between the ages of 18 and 30. Registration is now open for Fall 2026, with four different ways to join in.

Offered through AccessNow, FUTURES offers opportunities to connect with other young people through conversation, learning, reading and the arts—all with accessibility built into the program.

Choose Your FUTURES Experience

Book Club 2.0 offers an opportunity to read and discuss books with others. The book list is chosen from disabled, deaf, and neurodivergent writers. You will receive each book in your preferred format, whether that is audiobook or digital copy. The group, led by disabled and neurodivergent facilitators, meets on the second and fourth Mondays from September 2026 to February 2027. Register by September 13.

Core is a 12-week program with two options, in either a virtual or in-person format. Discover how you can take action on the issues you care about and help create meaningful change. Choose whether you want to join online or attend in person in downtown Toronto. Register by September 21.

Intensive, the same program as FUTURES Core, compacted into six weeks instead of twelve. The program will run from October 20 to November 25. Choose between online or hybrid. Register by October 18.

Visual Arts brings creativity into the mix. Over six Saturday sessions, participants will make original art with disabled artists. No previous art experience required. Sessions take place online from October to November. Register by October 23.

Accessibility is Built In

FUTURES is designed with accessibility in mind. Every session includes ASL interpretation, and participants receive agendas and materials in advance. Closed captions, large-print materials and screen-reader-compatible documents are available, along with breaks, extended time and a low-stimulation environment.

Virtual cohorts also include transcripts and recordings. CART captioning and audio description are available upon request.

For in-person sessions, spaces are scent-free, and participants receive an access guide with information about the venue, transit, entry, and accessible washrooms.

Whether you’re interested in connecting with others, exploring ideas, joining a book discussion or creating art, FUTURES has something for you this fall.
