Emergencies can happen at any time—floods, fires, power outages, or even natural disasters—and being ready is key to staying safe. This session is specifically designed for people who are blind, partially sighted, or deafblind, and will provide you with practical tools and knowledge to plan for and handle emergencies with confidence. This condensed version of the full program that was offered last year by the BC Affiliate, will cover the basics of personal emergency planning and guide you through the steps needed to create a plan that works for your unique needs.
Whether you’re living alone or with family, it’s important to know how to protect yourself when things go wrong. Also, in many emergencies, help might not arrive immediately, so it’s important to know what to do and how to react on your own. You’ll also learn how to find helpful resources that will support your emergency preparedness journey, so you can stay informed and ready for whatever comes your way, as well as ways to help you continue learning about different types of emergencies and how to protect yourself and your family.
We encourage you to attend this session and take the first step toward greater safety and security. Join us to gain the tools and confidence to manage emergencies safely and effectively while ensuring you’re as prepared as possible for whatever challenges might come your way.
